The 2022 elections must return to the House and Senate strong majorities dedicated to safeguarding the rights of all American citizens, to rebuilding trust in public service, and to restoring confidence in the United States around the globe. To that end, the Steady State, a group of former national security professionals, is announcing our endorsements of outstanding candidates, including Daniel Goldman, who share our values, our commitment to the United States, and have strong national security experience.

Dan Goldman, his wife Corinne, and their five children, live in lower Manhattan. In February 2019, Goldman was hired as senior advisor and Director of Investigations for the House Intelligence Committee. Later that year, Goldman served as lead counsel for the impeachment investigation of President Donald J. Trump, who was charged with abusing his office for his personal interest regarding Ukraine. In that role, Goldman led depositions, questioned witnesses in public hearings, and testified before the House Judiciary Committee.

For ten years before working on Capitol Hill, Goldman was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York working with Preet Bharara. Across a range of criminal cases, Goldman was responsible for many of the office’s consequential cases, holding powerful actors accountable and making our city safer. He prosecuted Russian organized crime, gun trafficking, violent gangs, landmark insider trading, and major corporate fraud cases. While in law school, Goldman, addressing the inequalities in our criminal justice system, contributing to Michelle Alexander’s seminal book, The New Jim Crow.

Founded after the 2016 Presidential election, the Steady State now includes over 200 national security professionals. Steady State members include former intelligence officers, specialists in defense policy, diplomats, and Congressional staff.
