The 2022 elections must return to the House and Senate with strong majorities dedicated to safeguarding the rights of all American citizens, rebuilding trust in public service, and restoring confidence in the United States around the globe. To that end, the Steady State, a group of former national security professionals, is announcing our endorsements of outstanding candidates, including Quaye Quartey II, who share our values, our commitment to the United States, and have strong national security experience. (See campaign site.)

Quaye Quartey, is the son of an immigrant, a veteran, an entrepreneur, and a proud husband and father. After graduating from California public schools, Quaye was appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy and upon graduation was commissioned as a naval intelligence officer.  Quaye’s two-decade-long career included combat tours in Kosovo and Iraq, support to counterterrorism and cyberwarfare operations on five continents, and service as a military envoy in France and Cameroon. He retired with the rank of Commander. Quaye moved into the private sector, enrolling in Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. With a degree in Business management in hand, Quaye started a small firm to assist local businesses.

Quaye felt called back to public service after he watched the 6 January 2021 attack on the US Capitol.  As representative from CA 27, Quaye will bring 20 years of national security service to Congress, working to strengthen the democracy and security of his country and his community.  Quaye lives in Valencia with his wife, Nancy and their two children, ages 10 and 12.
