The 2024 elections must produce House and Senate majorities dedicated to safeguarding the rights of all American citizens, to building trust in public service, and to maintaining confidence in American leadership around the globe. To that end, the Steady State, a group of former national security professionals, is proud to endorse Shawn Harris, who shares our values and our commitment to the United States and has decades of national security experience.

Shawn Harris is running in Georgia’s 14^th Congressional District for the seat held by Marjorie Taylor Greene.  He grew up on his family’s farm in Georgia, joined the Marine Corps, and graduated from Tuskegee University, where he met his wife Karla. Together they have five children and four grandchildren.

Shawn saw extensive combat in Afghanistan after 9/11 and would later serve in posts around the world as a senior military adviser.  He has earned several military honors for valor and leadership and has earned a degree in Strategic Studies from the Army War College. Returning to his native Georgia after his 40-year military career, he heard the frustrations and struggles of his neighbors, including fellow veterans, while their current representative, Marjorie Taylor Green, spends her time traveling between one press conference and another and pandering to the former president.  Shawn decided to honor his oath yet again and serve his neighbors by running to give Georgians the representation they deserve.
